Clarence & Melvie have known each other since they were 12 years old. Melvie was born in Calexico, California, and Clarence was born in Lemoore, California. Melvie moved to Tulare,Tulare County, California when she was 3 yeard old. There she met and becaome friends with Aunt Bert & Uncle Frank Greenway's daughters; Frances, Stella, and Kathryn. Clarence & Melvie met at Aunt Bert's home. They found they had a few things in common: 1) age ( both were 12 )and 2) both from Large Families ( 12 + Kids).
They went their separate ways after high school when Clarence joined the Army & went off to fight in the World War II. Melvie worked at various jobs and as time passed, both married & divorced. Years later they were reunited, they were married on Feb 26, 1947. They were married 51 beautiful years and had four children; two daughters and two sons : Marion, Jan, Lewis & Dennis.
Clarence was a truck driver most of his life. In his free time he loved horses, working on cars and helping anyone that asked.
Clarence & Melvie traveled approximately nine months out of the year in their 30-foot motor home. They have visted or passed through each of the lower 48 states. They have taken cruises and visted all major US Islands including Puerto Rico |
